Converter parameters
Auto-detected from the CSS; you can adjust them
Rotation (r) with NW: −45…45, default 45r45
Wave speed (f) = animation-duration
Gradient repetition (o) = last stop %
I have the Namewave power (NW)
Lowercase hex codes
Do not reverse colors (xat reverses them when rendering; leave it off)
Always write r and f (even if they are the defaults r45 / f4)
How xat turns the code into CSS (MakeGrad reverse-engineered)
f1 = 1s, f3 = 2s, f4 = 4s de animation-duration. Con NW y sin f, xat aplica f4 (4s) por defecto.
Max 15 colors; with fewer than 2 xat uses the default rainbow.

Paste the style shown by the browser inspector (DevTools) on any xat nick and get the exact namegrad code, with the right colours, rotation and glow. It also works the other way round: paste a xat code and see the CSS the official HTML5 client renders it with.
Frequently asked questions
How do I copy a nick style from xat?+
Right-click the nick in the chat, choose "Inspect" and copy the style attribute of the span with the clip or nameWave class. Paste it here and the converter extracts the colours and rotation.
Why doesn't my code match the original?+
xat applies its own rules: it reverses the colour order, clamps the rotation to ±45 with namewave and uses 45 as the default. The converter replicates those rules from the official client code.
Which powers do I need to use the code?+
Namegrad for the gradient, Nameglow for the glow and Namewave for the animation. You can look them up in our powers catalogue.
