Convert MP4 to GIF

Upload a video (any format), choose the clip, size and FPS, and get the GIF. Next to it, the square version with borders (A) and borderless / transparent (B) for a xat avatar, each with its download and link. Everything runs in your browser.

No video loaded.

▶ Show the video (to mark start and end with "⏺ current") ›
Load a video first.
The resulting GIF and the square / borderless versions will appear here.

Upload the video, set the start and end seconds (or use the player's current position), pick the size (original, 600×AUTO, 480p, 160 px for a xat avatar…) and the FPS, and press Convert. The GIF is generated in your browser with no upload, and afterwards you can resize, crop or rotate it.

Frequently asked questions

Which video formats are accepted?+

Any your browser can play: MP4 (H.264), WEBM, MOV, OGG… If the video does not show in the preview, convert it to MP4 H.264 first.

How big is the GIF?+

It depends on size, duration and FPS. For social media and chats, 480 px wide, 10–15 FPS and under 10 seconds is a good balance; drop to 128 or 64 colours to reduce weight.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?+

No. The whole process (frame extraction and GIF encoding) happens in your browser.
