Borderless image

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an animated GIF without losing the animation?+

Upload the GIF in the Resize tab, type the width or height (or a percentage), pick the method (stretch, center crop, keep aspect or transparent padding) and press Save. Every frame is scaled and the GIF is re-encoded with its original delays.

What is the difference between the resize methods?+

Stretch fits the image exactly to the requested size even if the ratio changes; Center crop fills the size and cuts the excess; Keep aspect fits the image inside without cutting; Transparent padding fits the image and fills the rest with transparency (great for PNG and GIF).

How do I make an image square without distorting it?+

Upload it in Square image, pick Blurred (fills the sides with a blurred copy of the photo) or Colour mode, choose the output size and download. Scaling is done in steps so the result stays sharp.

Can I crop an animated GIF into a heart?+

Yes. The Magic cropper decodes the GIF, applies the shape to every frame and re-encodes it with a palette per frame, so colours and frame delays are preserved.

What is the difference between removing the border and the whole colour?+

By default only the colour connected to the image edges is removed; pixels of the same colour inside the drawing are kept. Tick "Also the interior" to remove them all.
